আমি আওয়ামী লীগ করতাম। ছোটবেলা থেকেই ‘জয় বাংলা’, ‘তোমার নেতা, আমার নেতা — শেখ হাসিনা’ স্লোগান মুখস্ত করেছি। বিশ্বাস করতাম এই দল মুক্তিযুদ্ধের উত্তরসূরি, আর শেখ হাসিনা মৌলবাদের বিরুদ্ধে বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে বড় প্রতিরক্ষা। কিন্তু আজ আমি আতঙ্কিত। শেখ হাসিনার পদত্যাগের পর যে বাংলাদেশ আমরা দেখছি, তা ভিন্ন এক রাষ্ট্র — ধর্মীয় উগ্রতা, মৌলবাদ ও চরমপন্থার অভয়ারণ্যে পরিণত হয়েছে এই ভূখণ্ড।
রাজপথ এখন হেফাজত, জামায়াত ও সালাফি চক্রের দখলে। ঢাকাসহ বিভিন্ন শহরে প্রকাশ্যে শরিয়াহ আইন বাস্তবায়নের দাবিতে বিক্ষোভ হচ্ছে। মাদ্রাসাগুলোর পাঠ্যক্রমে ঢুকছে তালেবানি আদর্শ। নারী অধিকার, ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতা ও বাকস্বাধীনতা — সবই আজ প্রশ্নবিদ্ধ। সবচেয়ে ভয়াবহ বিষয় হলো, বর্তমান অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারে জামায়াতে ইসলামী কার্যত অংশীদার। আর এই কারণেই সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে ইসলামী উগ্রবাদের বিরুদ্ধে কোনও শক্ত অবস্থান দেখা যাচ্ছে না। মৌলবাদীদের বিরুদ্ধে কোনও মামলা হচ্ছে না, পুলিশ নীরব, প্রশাসন অদৃশ্য।
এই নীরবতা কি কাকতালীয়? নাকি পরিকল্পিত? যখন চট্টগ্রামে হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের মন্দিরে হামলা হলো, প্রশাসন বলল “বিচ্ছিন্ন ঘটনা।” যখন ফেসবুকে একজন নাস্তিক লেখককে হত্যার হুমকি দেওয়া হলো, তখনও সরকার নিশ্চুপ। কারণ যারা হুমকি দিচ্ছে, তারা এখন ক্ষমতার সাথেই জড়িত। আমি নিজেই আগে আওয়ামী লীগের পক্ষে সোচ্চার ছিলাম — ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতার পক্ষে দাঁড়িয়েছি। কিন্তু আজ যারা সেই চেতনার বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়াচ্ছে, তাদের সঙ্গে আপস করছে অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার।
আমরা কি সত্যিই সেই মুক্তিযুদ্ধের বাংলাদেশে আছি? নাকি এক তালেবানি ধারার রাষ্ট্রে ঢুকে পড়েছি, যেখানে দাড়িওয়ালা নেতারা ঠিক করবেন আপনি কী পরবেন, কী বলবেন, কী বিশ্বাস করবেন? এখন প্রতিবাদের সময়। আওয়ামী লীগ যাদের একসময় রুখেছিল, তারা আজ সরকারি মঞ্চে দাঁড়িয়ে হাততালি পাচ্ছে। আমরা যদি এখনই না জাগি, তবে বাংলাদেশ আর আমাদের থাকবে না।
